We believe that the purpose of the church is to serve people, not keep an institutional machine operating. We do not believe that people should serve a structure, but that the structure should serve people. That’s why our vision for ministry is based on our commitment to encourage people to serve where they best fit according to their God-given gifts, personalities, and abilities. Everyone has a GIFT to share. At First Church we encourage members and friends to use their God-given gifts to support many local missions. With our dollars and hands, these members and friends are seen all over the community sharing their time and talent with:
- the homeless shelters
- nursing homes
- Salvation Army
- St. Vincent DePaul
- and various other community agencies
Food with Friends
On the third Saturday if each month we provide a free breakfast for anyone who would like to join us. Food is served from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the lower level of the church. This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community and make a positive impact. Volunteers are needed to serve food, pour coffee, and simply offer a friendly face to help everyone feel welcome! If you would like to lend a hand, join us at the church at 8:00am.
