We have worked hard to create a policy that outlines our commitments and practices for ensuring that youth and vulnerable adults are safe and supported when they participate in our church programs. You can view the entire safe church policy here. We want to highlight a few important steps that are now part of our church’s Christian Education offerings:

• Leaders of Christian Education programs  complete background checks every three years and mandatory reporter training annually.
• Volunteers who wish to participate in Christian Education programs sign up in advance. Volunteers are scheduled in order to ensure that we have the appropriate adult-child ratio. Volunteers should not attend Christian Education programs when they are not scheduled.
• All children and youth need to register for Christian Education programs in order to participate. 
• An investigation process has been created and outlined in the safe church policy. All concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior can be directed to pastorparish@firstgb.org.
