Do not waste time bothering whether you “love” your neighbor; act as if you did.

We believe that the purpose of the church is to serve people, not keep an institutional machine operating.  We do not believe that people should serve a structure, but that the structure should serve people.  That’s why our vision for ministry is based on the notion of encouraging people to serve where they best fit according to their God-given gifts, personalities and abilities.  The objective is to match Christian men and women with ministry opportunities which provide maximum fulfillment.

Everyone has a GIFT to share. At First Church we encourage members and friends to use their God-given gifts to support many local missions. With our dollars and hands, these members and friends are seen all over the community sharing their time and talent with:

  • the homeless shelters (a new program has just started!)
  • nursing homes
  • Salvation Army
  • St. Vincent DePaul
  • and various other community agencies

We hope that you will consider your gifts and seek ways to share them with a servant’s heart!  We are currently looking for leadership in this area.  If you have a passion for community service and a desire to share the gospel, please consider this opportunity to re-start our commitment to helping those most in need.
