Any student in Middle School and High School is invited to get involved in our youth programming. This church greatly values the lives of our young people and want to see their relationship with Jesus grow deeper. We look forward to seeing you at one of our many events!

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” -1 Timothy 4:12

Sunday’s from September through the end of April at 9am, the youth (middle and high school age and including those in college) are invited to meet for fellowship and discussion in a relaxed setting between worship services. During this time, you are encouraged and led to go deeper in your faith. There is so much going on in life that can be overwhelming, and this is a time for the you to share and learn together. Please join us and invite your friends.

Each year at First Church, we invite ninth graders and anyone older to participate in a Confirmation course of study.  Throughout the class, we look at biblical and theological issues, and invite students to learn more about being a church member.

The main focus of the class is leading the student to put their faith into their own words. The youth are challenged to create personal Statement of Faith that they can easily share with one of their best friends. It’s easy to memorize and repeat the ancient creeds, but it’s a different story when it comes to expressing or describing our faith to another person.

Our youth group has named themselves A2J because they are Addicted 2 Jesus.

All middle and high school youth are invited to join the group.  We meet every Wednesday at 6pm from September through April at First United Church of Christ. A2J is a place where youth can do exciting things, make new friends and learn about Jesus in the process. We are always wanting to grow, so please invite your friends. Even if you are unsure about your faith, you are welcome to join us. Our motto is: leave your judgement at the door and make room for Jesus.

United to Make a Difference is the theme for our youth mission trips.  Every year a group of youth and adult leaders travel to a YouthWorks mission site and serve as the hands and feet of Jesus.  We have been to Brooklyn , NY; Martin, SD; Juarez, Mexico; Red Lake, MN; Denver, CO; Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Lake Traverse, SD; Hamlin, WV, Niagara Falls, NY; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Chattanooga, TN and most recently Logan, WV and many other places.

YouthWorks is a interdenominational missions organization that leads youth to serve communities throughout the United States during the summer months. The trips are open to youth in grades six through graduating seniors. To learn more about their ministry, please visit their website.
