GRACE is the open arms, charitable love of God that is freely given to us.
When a person comes face to face with God’s Grace, their response is to return thanksgiving and praise. We worship God!
We hope you will be surprised when you worship at First United Church of Christ. Each week is different. Using worship teams, praise band, choir, drama, dance, relevant videos and CD’s, we blend old and new worship traditions and expand scriptural themes with interest and integrity. From bringing a Harley into the sanctuary, to a huge 30 foot Easter cross, the goal of worship is to be engaging, questioning, God-honoring and life-changing.

Everyone is welcome at  First Church and everyone is welcome at the Lord’s table.  The Sacrament of Holy Communion, the Lord’s Supper, is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month and occasionally at special services (Thanksgiving, Ash Wednesday, Easter and Maundy Thursday).  Everyone is welcome to share in this meal, including children, regardless of church affiliation.  You do not need to be a member.  Communion is served with bread and individual cups containing both wine and juice.  We pray that through this meal we may continue to grow in our relationship with one another and with God.

Jesus told his followers to baptize new disciples “in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit.”  We believe that baptism is an act of surrendering our lives to God.   At First Church, we celebrate both infant and adult baptism.  Hansen Twin Baptism June 7, 2015
If your participation at this church, or any other community of faith, leads you to commit your life to Jesus Christ through adult baptism, we would be excited to share in that sacrament with you.  Stop and explore this exciting time with our minister or contact the church office for more information.
Infant baptism is a time when parents bring their child or children to be dedicated to God.  Families promise to raise their children in the Christian faith until that child can decide to follow Christ on their own.  As the child matures in their faith, they will affirm their baptism through the act of Confirmation.
You do not have to be a member to have your child baptized at First Church.  The Sacrament of Baptism is commonly celebrated during worship, so that the community of faith may share in your family’s joy and make a commitment to join you in raising your child in the Christian faith.  Again, contact our church office to learn more or to set up a date for baptism.
